RudraGram Collection

The oldest symbol of a marriage in Indian tradition is not a ring — it is Shiva and Parvati, inseparable. The Vivah Sukh Kavach from RudraGram is built around exactly that: a rare Gauri Shankar Rudraksha, two beads joined together naturally on the tree, paired with the 6 Mukhi Rudraksha of Lord Kartikeya, ruled by Venus — the planet that governs marriage itself.

Both beads are 100% original and lab certified, sourced from Nepal, and purified and energized by Pandit Ji from Mathura–Vrindavan — the same care that goes into every product across our Rudraksha and Kavach collections.

Why Gauri Shankar and 6 Mukhi Together

Gauri Shankar takes its name from Goddess Gauri (Parvati) and Lord Shankar (Shiva). It is not two beads tied together — it is a single natural formation where two Rudraksha grew joined. Ancient texts describe it as the unified form of Shiva and Shakti, and it is traditionally worn so that husband and wife come to understand and identify with one another.

Shukra (Venus), through the 6 Mukhi Rudraksha, governs marriage, love, attraction and harmony. It is the planet examined first in any horoscope matching, and the 6 Mukhi is its bead — worn for affection, expression and the willingness to meet a partner halfway.

One bead holds the bond; the other keeps it warm. That is the whole intent of this kavach.

Why People Wear the Vivah Sukh Kavach

  • 💍 Strengthen understanding and harmony between husband and wife
  • 🕉️ Invoke the blessings of Shiva and Parvati, the ideal of union
  • 🏡 Bring peace to the wider family and reduce friction at home
  • 💗 Restore warmth and affection in a marriage that has gone quiet
  • 🌸 Ease recurring arguments and long-standing misunderstandings
  • 💐 Traditionally worn by those seeking a suitable life partner
  • 🧘 Support emotional balance and patience in a relationship

The Two Beads Inside

Gauri Shankar Rudraksha (Lord Shiva & Goddess Parvati) — a rare, naturally conjoined pair of Rudraksha formed together on the tree. It carries no single ruling planet, drawing instead on the combined grace of Shiva and Shakti. Traditionally the most cherished bead for marital harmony and family peace.

6 Mukhi Rudraksha (Venus / Shukra) — the bead of Lord Kartikeya. Traditionally worn for love, attraction, willpower, expression and harmony in relationships.

About the Beads

A genuine Gauri Shankar is joined by nature, not by hand. Artificially joined and glued fakes are common in this category — every Gauri Shankar we supply is naturally formed, Nepal-sourced and lab certified, and the natural join is visible in the product photographs.

Since Rudraksha is a natural seed, every bead varies in size, shade and surface texture. These variations are a sign of authenticity, not a defect, and the kavach you receive may look slightly different from the photographs shown.

How to Wear the Vivah Sukh Kavach

  1. Choose an auspicious day — Monday, the day of Lord Shiva, is most commonly recommended for a Gauri Shankar. Friday, the day of Venus, is also favourable, and Maha Shivratri and Hartalika Teej are considered especially auspicious.
  2. Cleanse the kavach with clean water or unboiled milk in the morning, wipe it dry, and place it before your deity or altar for a short while.
  3. Energize it with mantra — chant "Om Namah Shivaya" 108 times while holding the beads, ideally facing east after a morning bath. Every RudraGram kavach is already purified and energized by our Pandit Ji, so this is an added personal step.
  4. Wear it correctly — around the neck on a red or white thread, or in a silver cap on a chain, resting close to the heart.
  5. Or keep it at your place of worship — many households keep a Gauri Shankar at the home altar rather than wearing it, believing its presence there brings peace to the whole family. Both are valid, widely followed traditions.

Chanting & Practice

Shiva Mantra (for the Gauri Shankar): "Om Namah Shivaya" 6 Mukhi Rudraksha Mantra: "Om Hreem Hum Namah" Venus Mantra: "Om Shum Shukraya Namah" Gauri Shankar Mantra: "Om Shree Gauri Shankaraya Namah"

Offering water or raw milk during Shiva abhishek on Mondays is the practice most closely associated with this kavach. Many couples chant together, and observing Maha Shivratri or Hartalika Teej as a shared vrat is a common tradition alongside it.

Care & Maintenance

  • Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth after use; avoid soaps, perfumes and chemicals.
  • Apply a light coat of olive or mustard oil once every few months so the beads do not dry out or crack.
  • Handle the Gauri Shankar with extra care given its rare, naturally joined form — avoid dropping it on hard surfaces.
  • Avoid prolonged water exposure — remove it before swimming or a long bath where convenient.
  • Store in a clean cloth pouch or in your pooja space when not being worn.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Vivah Sukh Kavach? It is a Rudraksha combination pairing a naturally conjoined Gauri Shankar Rudraksha with a 6 Mukhi Rudraksha. It is traditionally worn or kept for marital harmony, understanding between partners and peace within the family.

Why Gauri Shankar and 6 Mukhi specifically? Gauri Shankar represents the union of Shiva and Parvati and is the traditional bead for marriage. The 6 Mukhi is governed by Venus, the planet of marriage, love and harmony. Together they address both the bond and the warmth within it.

How do I know the Gauri Shankar is naturally joined and not glued? A genuine Gauri Shankar grows joined on the tree; fakes are joined by hand and fixed with adhesive. Every bead we supply is naturally formed, Nepal-sourced and lab certified, and the join is clearly visible in our product photographs. Please insist on certification with any seller.

Can an unmarried person wear this? Yes. It is traditionally worn both by married couples and by those seeking a suitable life partner.

Should both husband and wife wear one? Either approach is followed. Some couples wear one each, others keep a single kavach at the home altar for the household. Rudraksha is traditionally treated as personal, so a shared kavach is usually kept at the altar rather than passed between people.

How is this different from the Shukra-Surya Prem Kavach? Both contain the 6 Mukhi Venus bead. The Shukra-Surya Prem Kavach pairs it with the Sun for charm, attraction and confidence — suited to someone building a connection or drawing a partner in. This kavach pairs it with Gauri Shankar for union and harmony — suited to a marriage that already exists and needs steadiness rather than attraction.

Can I keep it at home instead of wearing it? Yes. Keeping a Gauri Shankar at the place of worship is a long-standing household tradition, believed to bring peace to the whole family.

On which day should I start wearing it? Monday, the day of Lord Shiva, is most commonly recommended. Friday, ruled by Venus, is also favourable, and Maha Shivratri and Hartalika Teej are especially auspicious.

Will this fix problems in my marriage? Rudraksha is a traditional spiritual practice meant to support patience, calmness and goodwill. It is not a substitute for honest conversation, and where a marriage is under serious strain, please also consider speaking to a counsellor or someone you both trust.

Where are the beads sourced from? Both beads are sourced from Nepal, the origin most valued for Rudraksha quality.

Is the kavach energized before dispatch? Yes, every kavach is purified and energized through proper mantra rituals by our Pandit Ji before it reaches you.

Will the kavach look exactly like the photo? No two Gauri Shankar beads are alike in shape or size. These natural variations are what confirm the bead is genuine.

Can I wear it along with my other Rudraksha or bracelet? Yes, it is commonly worn with other Rudraksha items. Keep the combination simple rather than stacking too many items at once.

Are there any rules to follow while wearing it? Some traditions suggest removing Rudraksha while bathing, sleeping or during non-vegetarian meals. Follow what suits your personal practice and family tradition.

Is this suitable as a gift? Yes, it is among the most meaningful wedding and anniversary gifts, and is also commonly given at Karva Chauth and Hartalika Teej.
