Of all the yantras in the tradition, one is called Yantra Raja — the king of yantras.

The Shri Yantra is not a symbol of a deity. It is understood as the universe itself in geometric form: the single point from which everything emerges, surrounded by the pattern through which it unfolds.

The Shree Shree Yantra from RudraGram is the framed form, drawn to its proper proportions and energized, made to be installed at the pooja sthan rather than worn.

What the Sri Yantra actually is

At the centre is the bindu — a single point, the origin, undivided.

Around it are nine interlocking triangles. Four point upward, representing Shiva, consciousness. Five point downward, representing Shakti, energy. Where they intersect they form 43 smaller triangles — and that intersection is the whole idea: creation as the meeting of the two.

Around the triangles sit the lotus petals — eight, then sixteen — and around those the bhupura, the square enclosure with four gates facing the four directions.

It belongs to the Shri Vidya tradition and is associated with Maa Lalita Tripura Sundari, and through her with Maa Mahalakshmi.

Why the geometry matters more here than anywhere else

This is the one yantra where accuracy is not a detail.

Constructing a Sri Yantra correctly is a genuinely difficult geometric problem. The nine triangles must intersect so that the 43 smaller triangles resolve exactly, with every line meeting where it should. Mass-produced versions very often carry an approximation — lines that nearly meet, triangles that do not close.

In tradition, a Sri Yantra that is not correctly drawn is not considered a Sri Yantra at all.

More than a wealth yantra

The Sri Yantra is sold almost everywhere as a money yantra, and that is not wrong so much as incomplete.

In its own tradition it is the highest object of sadhana — the form through which a Shri Vidya practitioner approaches the divine. Abundance is understood as one expression of that, not the purpose of it. Shri means prosperity in the fullest sense: wealth, yes, but also grace, wellbeing and dignity.

If you are keeping it for prosperity, that is a perfectly traditional reason. It is simply worth knowing you are keeping something larger than that.

If wealth is your specific concern, the Shree Sampurna Mahalaxmi Maha Yantra is the more focused choice. The Sri Yantra is broader.

Where to Place It

• Best: the north-east corner (Ishan kona) or the east of the home — the directions traditionally kept for worship.
• Most traditional: the pooja sthan, raised on the altar rather than resting low.
• Facing: ideally placed so you face east or north while worshipping it.
• Height: at eye level or slightly above. Never on the floor.
• Keep the space around it clean and uncluttered.

How to Install It

1. Choose an auspicious day — Friday is the day to begin. Navratri, Diwali, Sharad Purnima and Akshaya Tritiya are considered the most auspicious of all.
2. Clean the place thoroughly where it will be installed, and wipe the yantra gently with a dry cloth.
3. Invoke Lord Ganesha first — chant "Om Gam Ganapataye Namah".
4. Chant the Lakshmi mantra 108 times, or as many as you are able.
5. Offer a lotus or any flower, light a diya and incense, and place the yantra in position.
6. Light a diya before it daily. Even a minute is enough — it is the daily return that is the practice.

Performing Lakshmi puja on Fridays and at Diwali with the yantra in place is the practice most commonly kept. Those following the Shri Vidya tradition use the Lalita Sahasranama and the Panchadashi mantra — but that is a practice taken up under a guru, not from a product page, and we will not pretend otherwise.

• If it has a glass front, only the glass may be wiped with a barely damp cloth.
• If it is ever damaged, it is traditionally immersed in flowing water or placed respectfully under a tree rather than thrown away.
