RudraGram Collection

The first videsh yatra in our tradition was Hanuman's — a leap across the ocean, alone, into unfamiliar territory. The Videsh Yog Kavach from RudraGram is built on that idea: the 11 Mukhi Rudraksha, the bead of Lord Hanuman, paired with the 8 Mukhi Rudraksha, ruled by Rahu — the graha of foreign lands — and blessed by Lord Ganesha.

It is worn by students leaving to study, professionals moving for work, and families who want something with a child who is going far away.

Both beads are 100% original and lab certified, sourced directly from Nepal — the origin most valued for larger beads with deep, clearly separated mukhi lines — in keeping with the same commitment to genuine, unadulterated materials found across our Rudraksha and Kavach collections.

Why Rahu and Hanuman Together

In Vedic astrology, Rahu governs everything foreign — distant lands, unfamiliar cultures, migration and the pull towards what lies beyond the known. A strong Rahu connection in a chart is what astrologers read as Videsh Yog, the indication of going abroad.

But Rahu is also the planet of illusion. The same graha that opens the door to a foreign country is the one associated with false promises, misleading agents and arrangements that are not what they appeared to be. The 8 Mukhi, through Lord Ganesha, is worn to clear the obstacles and guard against exactly that.

Lord Hanuman (11 Mukhi) is the other half. He crossed the ocean alone, and he is the deity Indian families have always turned to for safe journeys and for courage in an unfamiliar place. His bead is worn for fearlessness, protection and steadiness far from home.

Rahu opens the path. Hanuman walks it with you.

Why People Wear the Videsh Yog Kavach

  • ✈️ Support plans for foreign study, work or settlement
  • 📄 Traditionally worn through visa applications and long paperwork
  • 🧿 Guard against deception, false promises and misleading agents
  • 🚩 Draw Lord Hanuman's courage and protection while travelling
  • 🏠 Support those living alone, far from family
  • 🧘 Ease homesickness, isolation and the strain of a new country
  • 🪔 Clear obstacles and delays through Lord Ganesha
  • 🎁 A traditional send-off gift for someone leaving the country

The Two Beads Inside

8 Mukhi Rudraksha (Rahu) — the bead of Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles. Traditionally worn to pacify Rahu, clear hurdles and delays, and protect from deception, misunderstanding and a restless mind.

11 Mukhi Rudraksha (Lord Hanuman) — the bead of the Ekadash Rudra, the eleven forms of Rudra. It carries no single ruling planet and is traditionally worn for courage, fearlessness, protection from sudden misfortune, and safety while travelling.

About the Kavach

Since Rudraksha is a natural seed, every bead varies slightly in size, colour, surface texture and mukhi line formation. These variations are a sign of authenticity, not a defect, and the kavach you receive may look slightly different from the photographs shown.

Who It Is For

  • Students leaving for higher studies abroad

  • Anyone in the middle of a visa, PR or immigration application
  • People already living abroad, away from family
  • Families sending a child overseas, as a parting blessing

  • Anyone with a Rahu connection in their chart read as Videsh Yog

How to Wear the Videsh Yog Kavach

  1. Choose an auspicious day — Tuesday, the day of Lord Hanuman, is most commonly recommended. Saturday, kept for both Hanuman and Rahu remedies, is equally suitable.
  2. Cleanse the kavach with clean water or unboiled milk in the morning, wipe it dry, and place it before your deity or altar for a short while.
  3. Energize it with mantra — chant the bead mantras 108 times before wearing it for the first time. Every RudraGram kavach is already purified and energized by our Pandit Ji, so this is an added personal step.
  4. Wear it correctly — around the neck on a red or black thread, or in a silver cap on a chain, resting near the heart.
  5. Keep it with you while travelling — it is traditionally worn rather than packed, so it stays with you through the journey itself.

Chanting & Practice

Ganesha Mantra (for the 8 Mukhi): "Om Gam Ganapataye Namah" 11 Mukhi Rudraksha Mantra: "Om Hreem Hum Namah" Rahu Mantra: "Om Ram Rahave Namah" Hanuman Mantra: "Om Han Hanumate Namah"

Reciting the Hanuman Chalisa before setting out on a journey is among the most widely kept practices in Indian households, and it is the one most closely associated with this kavach. Many families also recite it together on the day someone departs, and keep Tuesdays as the day for it afterwards.

Care & Maintenance

  • Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth after use; avoid soaps, perfumes and chemicals.
  • Apply a light coat of olive or mustard oil once every few months so the beads do not dry out or crack.
  • Avoid prolonged water exposure — remove it before swimming or a long bath where convenient.
  • Do not let others wear your kavach; Rudraksha is traditionally treated as a personal item.
  • Store in a clean cloth pouch when travelling, and keep it in hand baggage rather than checked luggage.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Videsh Yog Kavach? It is a Rudraksha combination made with 8 Mukhi and 11 Mukhi beads — the beads of Lord Ganesha and Lord Hanuman. It is traditionally worn by those travelling, studying or settling abroad, for protection and courage away from home.

Why Rahu for foreign travel? In Vedic astrology Rahu governs foreign lands, distant places and migration. A Rahu connection in the relevant houses is what astrologers read as Videsh Yog — the indication of going abroad.

Why is Hanuman's bead included? Hanuman crossed the ocean alone — the original journey to an unfamiliar land — and he is the deity Indian families have always invoked for safe travel. The 11 Mukhi is his bead, worn for courage and protection on the way.

Will this get my visa approved? No, and please be careful of anyone who suggests it will. Visa outcomes depend on your documents, your eligibility and the decision of a consulate. This kavach is a traditional practice kept for calm and courage through a stressful process — nothing more.

Rahu is linked with deception. Does that matter here? It does, and it is worth taking seriously. Fraud around visas, admissions and overseas jobs is common, and the 8 Mukhi is traditionally worn for protection from exactly that kind of misleading promise. Alongside it, please verify any agent independently, check requirements on the official government or university website rather than through an intermediary, and be wary of anyone guaranteeing an outcome or asking for large cash payments.

Can I take it abroad on a flight? Yes. Rudraksha is a natural seed and is carried by travellers routinely. Keep it in hand baggage rather than checked luggage. If you are carrying it into a country with strict agricultural or biosecurity rules — Australia and New Zealand are the usual examples — declare it on arrival rather than risk a penalty; a worn, certified bead is normally not an issue but declaring is always the safer route.

Can I send it to family already abroad? Yes, we ship internationally. Shipping is calculated at checkout and delivery typically takes 15–20 business days.

Is it a good farewell gift? It is among the most common gifts given when someone leaves the country, particularly from parents to a child going away to study.

Where are the beads sourced from? Both beads are sourced from Nepal, generally preferred for their larger size and deeper, clearly separated mukhi lines compared to the smaller Java variety.

On which day should I start wearing it? Tuesday is most commonly recommended, being the day of Lord Hanuman. Saturday is equally suitable.

Is the kavach energized before dispatch? Yes, every kavach is purified and energized through proper mantra rituals by our Pandit Ji before it reaches you.

Can women wear this kavach? Yes. There are no restrictions of gender or age for wearing this combination.

Can I wear it along with my other Rudraksha or bracelet? Yes, it is commonly worn with other Rudraksha items. If combining multiple remedies, keep the combination simple and meaningful rather than stacking too many items at once.

Will the kavach look exactly like the photo? Since Rudraksha is a natural product, slight differences in size, shade and mukhi lines are normal and actually confirm authenticity.

Are there any rules to follow while wearing it? Some traditions suggest removing Rudraksha while bathing, sleeping or during non-vegetarian meals. Follow what suits your personal practice and family tradition.

What is your shipping and return policy for this product? We offer free shipping across India (4–5 business days); international shipping is calculated at checkout. As this is a natural material and sacred product, returns are accepted only in case of damage, defect, or wrong item, within 7 days — see our Refund Policy and Shipping Policy for full details.

Note: This kavach is a traditional spiritual and astrological remedy used for personal belief and devotional practice. It has no bearing on visa, immigration or travel outcomes, and is not a substitute for professional immigration or legal advice. Individual experiences may vary.
