RudraGram Collection

A house is protected in two ways in our tradition — at its centre, and at its boundaries. The Griha Pravesh Kavach from RudraGram is built on exactly that idea.

The 4 Mukhi Rudraksha is the bead of Lord Brahma, the creator — and in Vastu Shastra, the centre of every home is called the Brahmasthan, Brahma's own place. The 10 Mukhi Rudraksha, blessed by Lord Vishnu, is traditionally described as Dashdik Raksha — protection from all ten directions, the same ten directions Vastu is built around.

The centre and every direction. That is the whole house.

Both beads are 100% original and lab certified, sourced directly from Nepal — the origin most valued for larger beads with deep, clearly separated mukhi lines — in keeping with the same commitment to genuine, unadulterated materials found across our Rudraksha and Kavach collections.

Why Brahma and Vishnu Together

Lord Brahma (4 Mukhi, Budh) is the creator — of the world, and of anything newly begun. A new home is a beginning in the fullest sense, and Brahma presides over the Brahmasthan at its centre. The 4 Mukhi also carries Mercury's clarity and good communication, which is no small thing in a household.

Lord Vishnu (10 Mukhi) is the preserver. This bead carries no single ruling planet — it is believed to pacify the influence of all nine grahas at once, and is traditionally worn as a complete shield against negativity and harm from any direction.

Create well, then protect what has been created. That is the order every griha pravesh ceremony follows, and the order this kavach is built in.

Why Families Keep the Griha Pravesh Kavach

  • 🏠 Mark a new home with a traditional blessing at griha pravesh
  • 🧭 Seek protection from all ten directions through the 10 Mukhi
  • 🪔 Invite an auspicious beginning under Lord Brahma
  • 🕊️ Support peace, harmony and fewer arguments within the household
  • 🧿 Guard the home against nazar, negative energy and ill will
  • 🏢 Equally suited to a new office, shop or rented flat
  • 🎁 Among the most meaningful housewarming gifts you can give

The Two Beads Inside

4 Mukhi Rudraksha (Mercury / Budh) — the bead of Lord Brahma, the creator. Traditionally worn for intellect, clear speech, learning and success in new beginnings.

10 Mukhi Rudraksha (Lord Vishnu) — the bead of Janardhan. One of the few Rudraksha with no single ruling planet, it is believed to pacify all nine grahas and is traditionally kept as a complete shield against negativity, disputes and harm from any direction.

Especially for those who cannot change their home

Most Vastu advice assumes you can move a wall, shift a kitchen or change the facing of an entrance. For the majority of people in India — living in flats, in rented homes, in houses already built — none of that is possible.

This kavach is the practical alternative that tradition has always offered: something kept within the home rather than built into it. It is why families place a kavach at the entrance or in the pooja room, and it is why this is one of the few home remedies that suits a tenant as well as an owner.

About the Kavach

Since Rudraksha is a natural seed, every bead varies slightly in size, colour, surface texture and mukhi line formation. These variations are a sign of authenticity, not a defect, and the kavach you receive may look slightly different from the photographs shown.

Who It Is For

  • Families moving into a new home, for the griha pravesh itself
  • Anyone shifting into a rented flat or house
  • Owners of homes with a Vastu concern that cannot be structurally changed
  • New offices, shops and business premises
  • Households where arguments and restlessness have become the norm
  • Anyone looking for a meaningful housewarming gift
  • Families who keep a kavach at the pooja sthan for the whole household

How to Place or Wear It

  1. Choose an auspicious day — the griha pravesh muhurat itself is ideal. Otherwise Thursday, the day of Lord Vishnu, is most commonly recommended, and Wednesday suits the Brahma side. Akshaya Tritiya, Navratri and Diwali are all considered auspicious for entering a new home.
  2. Cleanse the kavach with clean water or unboiled milk, wipe it dry, and place it before your deity during the griha pravesh puja if one is being held.
  3. Energize it with mantra — chant the deity mantras 108 times before placing it. Every RudraGram kavach is already purified and energized by our Pandit Ji, so this is an added personal step.
  4. Place it in the home — most families keep it above or near the main entrance, in the pooja room, or at the Brahmasthan, the centre of the house. Any of the three is traditionally followed.
  5. Or wear it — it can equally be worn around the neck on a yellow or white thread by the head of the household.

Chanting & Practice

4 Mukhi Rudraksha Mantra: "Om Hreem Namah" Vishnu Mantra (for the 10 Mukhi): "Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya" Vastu Mantra: "Om Vastu Purushaya Namah" Ganesha Mantra: "Om Gam Ganapataye Namah"

Chanting the Ganesha mantra before first entering a new home, and lighting a lamp at the entrance each evening for the first few weeks, are the practices most commonly kept alongside this kavach. Many families also recite the Vishnu Sahasranama on the day of griha pravesh.

Care & Maintenance

  • Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth; avoid soaps, perfumes and chemicals.
  • Apply a light coat of olive or mustard oil once every few months so the beads do not dry out or crack.
  • If kept at the entrance, place it where it stays dry and is not exposed to rain or direct sun all day.
  • If worn, remove it before swimming or a long bath where convenient.
  • Keep it clean and dusted as you would any item at the pooja sthan.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Griha Pravesh Kavach? It is a Rudraksha combination made with 4 Mukhi and 10 Mukhi beads — the beads of Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu. It is traditionally kept in a new home for an auspicious beginning and for protection, and can be placed at the entrance or pooja room rather than worn.

Why 4 Mukhi and 10 Mukhi specifically? In Vastu, the centre of a home is the Brahmasthan — Lord Brahma's place — and the 4 Mukhi is his bead. The 10 Mukhi of Lord Vishnu is traditionally described as protection from all ten directions, the same ten directions Vastu is organised around. Between them they cover the centre and the boundaries.

My house has a Vastu dosh. Should I be worried? Please do not panic, and be careful of anyone who wants you to. Vastu is a design tradition, not a verdict, and a great many homes described as having a dosh are perfectly happy ones. Where a genuine structural issue exists and can be fixed affordably, fix it. Where it cannot — which is the case for most flats and rented homes — a kavach is the traditional practice families have always kept instead.

Will this correct a structural Vastu problem? No. A kavach is a devotional practice, not a construction remedy. It will not change the facing of a door or the placement of a kitchen, and we will not claim otherwise.

Can I use it in a rented home? Yes, and it is particularly suited to one. A tenant cannot make structural changes, which is exactly why a kavach kept within the home is the practical option.

Where exactly should I place it? Most families keep it above or near the main entrance, in the pooja room, or at the centre of the home. All three are traditionally followed — choose what fits your house.

Can it be worn instead? Yes. It is commonly worn by the head of the household on a yellow or white thread, though for this particular kavach most families prefer to keep it in the home.

Can I use it for a new office or shop? Yes. The same reasoning applies to any new premises, and it is commonly kept at shop counters and office entrances.

Is it a good housewarming gift? It is one of the better ones. Griha pravesh gifting is notoriously difficult, and a kavach is meaningful, appropriate for any household, and does not depend on knowing someone's taste in furnishings.

On which day should I place it? The griha pravesh muhurat itself is ideal. Otherwise Thursday is most commonly recommended, and Akshaya Tritiya, Navratri and Diwali are all considered auspicious.

Is the kavach energized before dispatch? Yes, every kavach is purified and energized through proper mantra rituals by our Pandit Ji before it reaches you.

Where are the beads sourced from? Both beads are sourced from Nepal, generally preferred for their larger size and deeper, clearly separated mukhi lines compared to the smaller Java variety.

Will the kavach look exactly like the photo? Since Rudraksha is a natural product, slight differences in size, shade and mukhi lines are normal and actually confirm authenticity.

Are there any rules to follow? If worn, some traditions suggest removing Rudraksha while bathing, sleeping or during non-vegetarian meals. If kept at home, simply keep it clean and in a dry place at the pooja sthan.

What is your shipping and return policy for this product? We offer free shipping across India (4–5 business days); international shipping is calculated at checkout.
