About Karungali

Karungali is the dense, naturally dark heartwood of the ebony tree. Genuine karungali feels heavier than ordinary wood for its size, is deep black to dark brown, and shows a fine natural grain. Dyed wood, by contrast, is lighter and its colour may rub off. Because this is natural wood, shade and grain vary from bead to bead.

  1. Choose a day – Tuesday, the day of Mangal, is commonly chosen.
